METROPOLIS
RE-SCORING PROJECT 1927-2027
Gottfried Huppertz originally composed the film's score for a large orchestra. Since then, Giorgio Moroder, The New Pollutants, William Fitzwater for the BBC, and many others have re-scored this classic.
I finally dove into rescoring the entire film—for love of it, nothing less, nothing more.
Though perhaps, deep down, I see the turn our world is taking. Perhaps my frustration seeks to warn us all: we're heading in the wrong direction. Follow the evolution of the project as it unfolds.

Having been on tour, I had to put the project on hold. I decided to start over, as I wasn't completely satisfied with what I had written.
I chose to write with fewer notes and more emotion, creating a counterbalance to the cold aesthetic of Metropolis.
Still rooted in C♯ Phrygian.
